2000/1 EAZA Bushmeat Campaign

In the Bushmeat Campaign 2000/2001, zoos and aquariums worked with national and European ministers to deliver 1.9 million signatures to the European Parliament Committee of Petitions. This lead to the formation of an EU Bushmeat Steering Group to discuss the implementation of the Campaign’s demands, which became a resolution.

Paignton Zoo's Great Big Rhino Project has made crucial donations of cash to wildlife conservation on two continents. The Project is to give £60,000 to support work in Africa and South East Asia to protect rhinos in the wild. More
