On Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th of October, we’ll be welcoming bear care professionals to discuss all aspects of ‘ex situ’ bear husbandry, behaviour and welfare.

Hear from leading bear care experts on a range of management techniques including habitat design, environmental enrichment, operant conditioning, animal behaviour and much more, whilst in the company of like-minded people. Practical demonstrations and group discussion will also create an environment for you to learn and share best practice bear care skills.

In addition to the two day workshop on Monday and Tuesday, you will have the opportunity to stay for another day – on the Wednesday there will be a morning tour of the bear habitats at Chester Zoo, and then the afternoon to explore the zoo for yourself. This is entirely optional but recommended!

£80 for BIAZA members and £100 for non-BIAZA members
