From three expert staff at Chester Zoo, this talk is entitled "The role for zoo education in a post-covid world". This 30-45 minute talk will begin at 1pm, with time for questions at the end.

The covid pandemic quickly became an existential crisis for BIAZA collections. With government support failing to recognise the diverse contributions zoos and aquariums make to society, the post-covid world gives us a unique opportunity to promote and enhance our work. Here we discuss the role of zoo-led education programmes in this new future. Using practical examples from our work, we'll explore how BIAZA members can, through carefully planned education programmes, contribute to post-covid recovery in schools, help achieve international biodiversity targets and demonstrate broader societal benefit.

This talk is being given by three staff from Chester Zoo - Dr Andy Moss, Lead Scientist, Charlotte Smith, Head of Conservation Education and Engagement and Nicola Buckley, Conservation Education and Engagement Manager.
