We are delighted to announce that registration for the 2020 BIAZA Conservation & Native Species Conference is now open!

The conference will have a rewilding theme throughout with some fantastic invited speakers presenting their diverse ideas and initiatives! Rewilding means different things to different people and the conference aims to present the latest thinking on what defines a rewilding project as well as some of the projects that zoos and aquariums could become or are already involved with.

There will also be a structured discussion on the rewilding roles of zoos and aquariums as well as the opportunity to hear the latest conservation updates from the committee and the wider membership.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS: we would really like zoos, aquariums and their partner organisations to present their conservation and research projects, especially those with a rewilding aim or with direct relevance to rewilding (e.g. translocations, conservation grazing, reserve management, connection to nature etc.). If you would like to speak at the conference please submit an abstract (maximum 250 words) to [email protected] stating whether you have a preference for Day 1 (native species focus), Day 2 (rewilding focus) or Day 3 (international or global focus). The deadline for submission is 31st October 2019.
