Given the unprecedented global situation and concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus, and after careful consultation regarding the health and safety of everyone involved, the difficult decision has been made to cancel the upcoming UFAW conference ‘Recent advances in animal welfare science VII’ on 1st July.

Delegates who have registered for the meeting will be contacted by email. Those who have paid can choose to have their £63 registration fee refunded. Alternatively delegates can use their registration fee as £70 credit against the registration fee for the 2021 UFAW Symposium to be held in Edinburgh on 29-30 July or they can choose to turn their fee into a donation to support UFAW's charitable activities in these uncertain times.

We still hope to be able to offer some of the planned conference content and are thinking how best we might achieve this eg as recorded presentations. Further details will follow in due course.

For those of you who were also planning on attending the Fifth Annual Meeting of the AWRN, due to take place on following the UFAW meeting on the 2nd-3rd July 2020 in Birmingham, please note that this meeting is also cancelled.

UFAW, and AWRN, are very disappointed that we are unable to hold these events, especially as for the first time we were running them alongside each other, but we are confident it’s the right decision based on the information we have today.

Thank you for your understanding and best wishes to all of you.
