Role Profile

The Institute of Zoology, the research arm of the Zoological Society of London, affiliated to University College London, invites applications for a Springboard Fellowship in Conservation Science.  The post provides an opportunity for an outstanding early career researcher to establish themselves as an independent researcher in conservation science. The post will be based in the Institute of Zoology, but with the opportunity to develop links with researchers at University College London. The fellow will supported by a senior scientific mentor and provided with funding to help them establish their research.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will:

  • Have an exceptional track record in conservation science for their career stage.
  • Have been awarded a PhD or equivalent research-related degree gained prior to their application.
  • Have a clear vision for how they see their research developing and for how the fellowship will help them achieve their longer-term goals.

We are looking for an early career researcher with the potential to develop a successful independent career in academic research, and who will bring complementary skills and interests to the research community at the Institute of Zoology. We wish to see evidence of potential across four key competencies - research excellence, conservation impact, management and leadership, and teaching (if applicable to your previous roles).
