The Aquatic Welfare Workshop is supported by the BIAZA Animal Welfare Working Group and will include talks on welfare theory, aquatic health, nutrition, husbandry, behaviour and how we can learn from zoos and zoo research. The BIAZA Welfare Policy and the WAZA welfare goals will be a central focus of this workshop as well as learning how to use assessment methods like the BIAZA Welfare Toolkit and considering how assessments can be further developed for use with aquatic species.

The workshop will run over two sites over two days: Bear Grylls Adventure (3rd) And Sealife Birmingham (4th). Trains run from Birmingham International to Birmingham New Street on a regular basis to allow for easier access to in central Birmingham.  Registration is now available: Buy Aquatic Welfare Workshop Tickets online - BIAZA (digitickets.co.uk)

Tickets will cost:

Sealife/BIAZA Members/ Students: £35 for one day/£50 for two days

Non-members: £40 for the one day/£60 for two days

Lunch is not included however adequate time to buy lunch from one of the nearby providers will be given. Parking is included in the price of the ticket over the two days however this is only at Bear Grylls for 9 hours per day from the time when you enter the car park. Please use postcode B40 1NT to find The Bear Grylls Adventure's car park at NEC Car Park East 5. If you would like to park in central Birmingham, parking is available at the Utilita Area car park and the Q-Park Brindley Place where normal parking charges will apply.
