Take place via Zoom on Thursday 13th July 6pm to 9pm we are excited to annouce our first flamingo foot workshop!
This workshop is for all zoo staff who work with flamingos, and other terrestrial birds, that need regular foot checks. Those who are new flamingo management and experienced bird keepers who feel the need for a refresher on the importance of keeping bird feet healthy and how to assess feet accurately and quickly
The workshop will be covering three topics:
i) Catching and handling for health checking (Phoebe Vaughan, WWT)
ii) How to score foot health (Dr Paul Rose, WWT)
iii) Re-assessing and re-designing enclosures to promote healthy feet (Marwell Wildlife)
Flamingos are the focus of the workshop, but the main aims are applicable to all terrestrial birds.
