BIAZA Keeper Skills Development Conference

BIAZA's Living Collections Committee is proud to announce the dates for our first ever multi-taxa joint conference, the Keeper Skills Development Conference, taking place at Drayton Manor Zoo 9-10 May 2023. Every topic will cover multiple taxa, so fantastic knowledge for keepers working with multiple species!

DAY 1 - Sessions on Life Support Systems (Heating, Lighting & Filtration) and Feeding & Nutrition 

DAY 2 - Sessions on Hazerdous Animals, Animal Welfare and Enrichment

This year's conference is kindly sponsored by ELSS group. 

Day tickets unavailable, tickets cover two days of the conference and the evening BBQ meal on day one. Collections can purchase tickets and send different staff to different days of the conference. Please note agenda and timings subject to change.

Hotel Discount: The onsite recommendation is the hotel at Drayton Manor. We have discounted the rate down to £85.00 which is only a £5.00 increase on 2019 rates – we will be arranging a discount code but at the moment you can just call on 01827 255993 or email [email protected] and explain you’re coming to the KSDC to get the discount. Alternatively for folks who might want to camp or have a caravan they do have a camp site which is operated by the Camping and Caravanning Club, a little further afield there is the Holiday Inn Express  which is 3 miles away, there are also a number of local Airbnb and B&B options. Please note for external accommodation we are not endorsing or recommending these sites other than based on their physical proximity to Drayton Manor.
