Chester Zoo and EFECA have co-developed this one day introductory course to support BIAZA members in navigating the complexity of palm oil supply chains and how to embed this into your organisation, from Food and Beverage to Conservation Education.
This course has been subsidised (by EFECA And Chester Zoo) to ensure that costs are kept low and as many BIAZA collections can attend as possible.
Over the course of the day, our Sustainable Palm Oil Specialists will take you through key topics related to:
- Responsible supply chains, legislation and paperwork
- UK Due Diligence
- The link to carbon and climate change
- Developing engagement with communities, educators and young people
- Zoo visitor engagement and interpretation
- Field conservation and palm oil
- Soy and palm oil in animal feed supply chains
There’ll be opportunities to discuss your current palm oil status, how to become RSPO certified and how to navigate the range of certification schemes you may encounter. Experts will be on hand the whole day to network with, discuss your current challenges and offer some advice on next steps for your zoo.
We’ll also show you success stories from the field and how your work on Sustainable Palm Oil has real world impact on the communities, flora and fauna that we work in Malaysia.
Whilst this course is aimed at BIAZA member zoos – there is a ticket rate for non-members if you wish to attend.
EXTRA DAY: As a BIAZA member you are more than welcome to spend Friday 1 December at Chester Zoo.
