Twycross Zoo's primate collection is up there with the best in the world, and they are the only zoo in the UK to house all four great apes.  What better hosts for a gibbon keepers' workshop!  This is the first time ABWAK have organised a workshop specifically on gibbons, so don't miss out and get your tickets early!

The Key Note Speaker is Dr Susan Cheyne – covering in-situ gibbon conservation.  She has worked for wildlife conservation in Southeast Asia since 1997.  Focussing on primate ecology and conservation looking into the illegal pet trade of gibbons, rehabilitation and reintroduction successes of these threatened apes and focusing on conservation research to inform actions for small ape conservation.

Plus more talks being given by experienced gibbon keepers from various collections – covering topics including housing, diets, enrichment, training etc.  Tours of Twycross Zoo gibbon facilities and other primate housing, and a practical workshop session.

Priority booking will be given to gibbon keepers - please contact the organiser before trying to book if you do not work with gibbons but have good reason to want to attend.

Bookings will not be confirmed unless online registration is completed and full payment has been made.  Places are limited.  Cost for ABWAK members and BIAZA members £20, non-members also welcome £40.  Refreshments and lunch are included in the price.
