10th UK and Ireland Regional Environmental Enrichment Conference

SHAPE-UK and Ireland is a regional division of The Shape of Enrichment, Inc. dedicated to furthering enrichment efforts in the UK and Ireland. The mission of REEC meetings is to provide a forum for animal carers to meet and discuss environmental enrichment and improving captive animal welfare. All of our meetings have been a great success. So come and join us for REEC 2026 at Drayton Manor Zoo for what promises to be another fantastic conference packed with keynote speakers, talks, workshops and practical builds led by Team Building with BITE, and of course some great social events.

Abstract submission

Organisers invite the submission of abstracts for the 10th REEC, for both oral presentations. Both experimental and practical-based presentations are encouraged and should focus on behavioural needs and improving animal welfare.

We will also be including a ‘Enrichment showcase’ session, this will be a great chance to introduce a new enrichment device you have trialled.

Deadline for submission of abstracts is 31st March. All abstracts will be reviewed by the REEC committee and it is anticipated that authors will be notified of the outcome within one week of the submission deadline.
