Animal Emergency Response Workshop

This workshop is hosted by Chester Zoo in conjunction with (BARTA) British Animal Rescue & Trauma Care Association

This Animal Emergency Response Workshop is designed to support keepers and custodians of large exotic animals to develop effective emergency response plans. 

Our one day workshop will focus on safety, situational awareness and practical application of large animal rescue and relocation techniques. 

The workshop will fulfil the following criteria:

•  Scene safety and situational awareness  

•  Incident planning and management

•  Large animal rescue and relocation techniques and tactics   

•  Practical techniques for the safe, efficient and respectful loading of deceased or sedated animals

•  Species specific case studies including safety, handling and incident management considerations
