Avian Life Support Systems Workshop

This one-day workshop will cover various aspects of life-support provision for birds. It will include both the theory behind LSS provision and hands-on demonstrations such as ‘the effects of different heating technologies’, and ‘how to set up an ideal bask zone’. It will provide attendees with the skills and knowledge to implement LSS in their own bird institutions in a contemporary and meaningful way, incorporating infrared, ultraviolet and visible light. The workshop will also address common issues such as the practicalities and cost of installing LSS within aviaries, as well as maintaining accurate records to meet zoo licensing requirements.
