Join us and discover how we engage engage our audiences as the UK’s most visited zoo!

Chester Zoo is the UK’s most visited zoo, with 25,000 animals in the collection and a record-breaking 2 million visitors in 2019. The Exhibitions and Interpretation Team work closely with the animal teams, architects and designers to develop interactive, engaging and thought-provoking exhibits and interpretation.

We continually develop innovative, creative and immersive interpretation alongside amazing zoo designs, with Islands opening in 2015, Madagascar and our lemur walkthrough in early 2019, the UK’s largest Asiatic lion habitat in late 2019 and the brilliant reopening of Monsoon Forest in 2020. We’re now looking forward to the opening of Heart of Africa in 2025!

This 2 day course will take you through how research informs our design, how we ensure our exhibits meet the needs of a range of demographics and the importance of a visitor journey around the spaces we create. The course will take you through key design stages using zoo case studies and will allow you to apply these concepts to your own projects or designs, or aid you in developing your career in this sector.

The course has very limited places, so book early!

BIAZA\EAZA member organisations reduced rates apply.
