Suidae and Bovidae workshop

Join us at Chester Zoo for an engaging two-day programme focused on the management, conservation and care of suids and bovids, bringing together expert speakers, case studies and behind-the-scenes experiences.

Day 1 – Suid Focus

The day begins with an introduction and housekeeping before diving into specialist sessions, including:

• Health and management of pig species
• Conservation updates
• Best practice management

You’ll also enjoy guided tours of key suidae areas of the zoo offering valuable real-world insights.

Day 2 – Bovid Focus

Day two explores global and practical approaches to bovid management, including:

• Wild cattle management
• Reproduction and Conservation
• In and ex situ projects

You’ll take part in an off show tour, followed by sessions on management, husbandry and reproduction, alongside expert insights into Bovidae management and additional external perspectives.

This collaborative workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, exchange knowledge and deepen your understanding of species management and conservation.
