Welcome to the BIAZA Shark Awareness Week vote webpage! The votes are now finished. Thank you to everyone who voted last week.
Congratulations to the winner: Betty the bowmouth guitarfish! Her many supporters put her on top after a close final with Eddie the eagle ray. She can be visited at SEA LIFE London as one of the aquarium's most notable characters.
Betty represents a species that is Critically Endangered. As a ray that is often mistaken for a shark, the plight of bowmouth guitarfish is not commonly considered in conversations about animals facing extinction. That's why we agree that Betty is a worthy winner, and we're glad to have highlighted such a diverse range of species which need admiration and support.
All the sharks/rays can be found at their respective BIAZA aquariums. Why not pay them a visit?
