The British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums is celebrating its 60th year in 2026!
From our founding as The Federation of Zoological Gardens of Great Britain and Ireland in 1966, BIAZA has gone on to represent over a hundred zoos and aquariums across the British Isles, championing best practice in animal welfare, conservation, education, and research.
Our last decade has been our biggest yet; launching BIAZA Accreditation, supporting the launch of the new zoo Standards in GB, welcoming several new members to the team, guiding members through the Covid years, and so much more.
