An exciting opportunity has arisen at Slimbridge Wetland Centre to work with our renowned amphibian collection. Home to a large and diverse collection of amphibians, Toad Hall is a highlight for Slimbridge visitors. It includes some unusual captive species such as Lake Titicaca frogs and numerous urodela species.
Behind the scenes, the collection have tropical and temperate breeding facilities where several rare species have been bred including some exciting firsts in captive amphibian management such as sword tailed newts. This is an exciting time to join the team as we work through a refresh project, bringing new species out on display and diversifying the collection to include wider ectothermic taxa.
The successful candidate will work with our Ectotherm Supervisor and wider presentations team, maintaining and developing this unique and exciting collection. Some previous experience of amphibian care is required and you will be passionate about educating the public on the plight of amphibians and wetland habitats.
