FIVE SISTERS ZOO

Yes We offer work experience weeks (Monday-Friday) to students that are 15 years or older through their schools, in conjunction with the local West Lothian Council. The work experience weeks involve assisting the keepers with food preparation, feeding the animals and cleaning the enclosures. Our internship program is aimed at candidates that are 18 years or older, that are studying towards or have a qualification in an animal-based subject. We ask our interns to commit to 2 or 3 days a week, every week for a period of 3 months. The internship program involves similar initial training to the volunteer program, but also entails a commitment to an enrichment project and an animal behaviour project. We also aim to provide opportunities throughout the working week to shadow our teaching team in more formal educational activities.
