Join Our Team as our Ectotherm Collection Supervisor at WWT Slimbridge!
At WWT Slimbridge, we’re proud to host the largest collection within our charity’s network, where we lead the way, bring life and inspire connection. We’re excited to offer a unique opportunity to lead our esteemed ectotherm collection at ‘Toad Hall’, a visitor favourite and a sanctuary for a diverse array of amphibians and fish, with flexible scope in the future to explore other ectotherm taxa. Currently we have a remarkable variety of Caudata species, a significant temperate collection, and extraordinary species like the Lake Titicaca frogs.
As the lead of our ectotherm collection, you’ll oversee our breeding facility dedicated to the preservation of several rare species. Your role is pivotal in conveying our message about the power of wetlands and engaging the public through the wonders of our ectotherms and there wetland habitats.
This is a full time permanent position working 5 days out of 7 including weekends and bank holidays.
About You
We’re seeking a dynamic individual who can:
- Provide exemplary care and ensure the highest welfare standards for our collection.
- Educate and inspire visitors about the critical role of ectotherms in their ecosystems.
- Lead and mentor a dedicated team of staff, interns, and volunteers.
- Collaborate effectively across various departments to achieve our mission.
- Innovate and drive progress by developing new exhibits and undertaking impactful projects that elevate both visitor experience and animal welfare.
