What you'll bring to the team

Location: Chessington World of Adventures Resort Leatherhead Road Chessington Surrey KT9 2NE

Hours: Shifts cover hours between 8:30am – 6:30pm across any 4 out of 7 days. Weekend and bank holidays are included.

Here at Chessington World of Adventures our 2024 season is in full swing, and we are recruiting for a Zoo Experience Team Leader to join the team!

An interesting and versatile role within the Zoo Operations team with a key focus on the guest experience, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of our walkthrough sections, ensuring that our scheduled talks are delivered on time and to an exceptional standard, whilst being a point of call for the team.

With the large Zoo Experience Host team reporting into this role, you will help with to increase the education and conservation message of the Zoo whilst performing regular check ins, development plans and leading with recruitment. You will also update and create paperwork for health and safety procedures within Zoo areas, as well as flagging any potential health and safety issues that may arise and impact our staff and guests.

You will also liaise with key stakeholders across the Resort: Marketing and PR for publicity opportunities and VIP to create or improve animal experiences to name a few!

Qualifications & Experience

We need you to come with the right positive attitude, enjoy working as part of a team and in a fast-paced environment, and be able to deliver a ROARsome experience to our Guests!

Whilst we do not require any formal qualifications or experience for this role, the following would be desirable:

  • Experience working in a guest facing environment
  • Experience with public speaking and comfortable to conduct meetings
  • Experience with excel
  • Management experience
