We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Animal Sciences and Conservation Manager (Maternity Cover) to join our team at our York campus.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is capable of working with others and is responsible, passionate and knowledgeable about the overall animal management sector.
Responsibilites include: supporting on the commercial, conservation, education, research in our licensing, including: Zoo licensing, the 5* Dog boarding kennel license, and work towards future licensing projects. The candidate must support on the planning and development of the practical animal resources and support all curriculum areas, be able to manage projects including ongoing and future animal developments, support commercial activities within the Wildlife Park and Kennels, lead and manage staff including supporting staff development and CPD opportunities, be a key link between the various stakeholders involved in running a licenced establishment including Curriculum teams, BIAZA, Local Council, other collections and other local and national attractions and services to help support and drive the colleges wider vision. Experience with budgets is desirable but not essential, however must be able to support income targets. The ideal candidate must be enthusiastic, positive and driven to make continuous positive changes within the animal department.
Reporting to the Animal Sciences, Conservation and Associated Enterprises Manager.
Applicants should be educated to at least a level 3 in an animal related subject, and a degree in an animal related subject would be advantageous.
