Five Sisters Zoo is looking for a full time, qualified electrician to carry out a range of maintenance and installation work. Ahead of our 20th anniversary, there has never been a more exciting time to join the FSZ team. With a new education facility in development, our annual illumination event on the way and over 160 different species living in a range of different habitats we are looking for an incredibly hard working, enthusiastic, proactive and organised individual with a wealth of experience.
Salary: Will depend upon experience
Hours of Work: Full time (40 hours per week)
The successful candidate will:
-Be responsible for all electrical maintenance across the park
-Keep maintenance records up to date
-Carry out and record regular alarm tests
-Assist with the maintenance of electrical water pump systems
- Maintain on-site generators
-Manage the setup of our annual illuminations event
-Ensure electricals used for our annual illuminations are packed up and stored throughout the rest of the year
-Carry out PAT testing across the site
-Work with different zoo teams to ensure the successful completion of upcoming projects (new facilities and habitats etc)
*This role will involve a lot of lifting and physical work outside and indoors throughout the year and through all weather conditions.
Essential Requirements:
-Must be fully qualified
-Must have at least five years’ experience
-Must be able to use a range of handheld tools
-Must be patient
-Must be practical
-Must have a full UK drivers’ licence
-Must be hard working and committed
-Must be happy to work some bank holidays, evenings and weekends where required
-Must be happy to be on call where required
Desirable:
-Experience working in a large visitor attraction
-Experience setting up lighting for shows/events
