Role: Volunteer Animal Keeper – Bristol Zoo Project
Day available: Saturday or Sunday (Winter: 8am – 4:30pm Summer: 8:30am – 5pm)
Minimum age: 18 years old
Length of placement: At least 6 months
We have two exciting opportunities for someone to volunteer alongside our Animal Keeper team at Bristol Zoo Project! This is an exciting time to join as we are due to start developing some new animal exhibits as part of our vision to have 80% of our species linked to conservation work around the world, living in spaces more closely reflecting their natural habitats.
Our Animal Keeper Volunteers shadow and assist our Animal Keepers on our Primate, Hoofstock and Bird sections as well as getting to observe our Carnivore routines in Bear Wood.

- Weaver Birds
- Zebra
- Red River Hogs
- Reticulated Giraffe
- Philippine Spotted deer
- Ring-tailed Lemurs
- White-belted Ruffed Lemurs
- Gentle Lemurs
- Blue-eyed Black Lemurs
- Geladas
Day to day tasks:
- Assisting with daily cleaning
- Food preparation
- Creating and providing enrichment
