CONTEXT:
This is a voluntary post for which you must have institutional support and be a staff member at a BIAZA full member. The post is within the DEAI Working Group[email protected] which is part of The British & Irish Association of Zoos & Aquariums’ (BIAZA) Mission Enabling Committee (MEC). Group members are welcome from any staff department at BIAZA members who have interest or experience in DEAI matters.
ROLE SUMMARY: to support the DEAI working group to encourage diversity, accessibility, equity and inclusion across the BIAZA membership through a range of projects, activities and partnerships.

Members will work with the wider group and relevant BIAZA staff to keep updated on good practice in respect of wider DEAI implementation, and help champion and communicate this to BIAZA members.

A key aim of the group members is to assist in developing BIAZA DEAI relevant resources and contribute where desired to the BIAZA DEAI Facebook page.

Group members will try to actively support and aid BIAZA’s other committees and working groups wherever relevant.

Group members will take an active role in answering enquiries about DEAI as appropriate.

Where required or relevant, an agreed group member may act as DEAI Meetings Liaison Officer assisting other working group or focus groups with practical and information support.

Group members will help to deliver the BIAZA strategy through supporting the aims of the Mission Enabling Committee.

Group members will play an active role in determining the future direction & development of the working group.
