The Big Cat Sanctuary is looking for a proactive, organised, and enthusiastic Events Assistant to support the planning and delivery of our exciting calendar of events.
From Open Days and Member Events to exclusive corporate experiences and vital fundraising initiatives, you’ll help create unforgettable experiences that raise awareness and funds for big cat conservation. This is your opportunity to play a behind-the-scenes role in delivering high-quality, mission-driven events at one of the UK’s most unique wildlife destinations.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Assisting with the planning, setup, and delivery of events including Open Days, Adopter Days, Corporate Events, and Private Experiences
• Supporting guest communication, managing RSVPs, and ensuring a smooth experience on event days
Helping coordinate event logistics such as catering, layout, signage, and technical requirements
• Updating the online events diary and assisting with internal bookings and schedules
• Liaising with suppliers, staff, and volunteers under the guidance of the Events Coordinator
• Supporting event stock control, cleanliness, and presentation standards across the site
• Ensuring health and safety standards are met before and during all events
• Representing The Big Cat Sanctuary in a welcoming, professional, and passionate manner
What We’re Looking For
• A friendly, proactive team player with excellent organisational and communication skills
• Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and enjoys problem-solving
• Comfortable working flexible hours including weekends and evenings
• Experience in events, hospitality, or customer service would be ideal
• Confident using Microsoft Office – especially Excel
• A passion for animals, conservation, and creating memorable guest experiences
• Calm under pressure, adaptable, and keen to go the extra mile to deliver a great result
