Wild Ireland, located in the scenic North West of Ireland, is a unique Wildlife Park home to Barbary macaques, bears, wolves, lynx, wild boar, deer, and approximately 40 other species. Since opening in 2019, Wild Ireland has gained global recognition, featuring in Netflix and National Geographic. The park is rapidly developing and seeks an experienced animal keeper to contribute to building a unique animal park, rescue missions, conservation efforts, and creating a memorable experience for visitors.. This is an incredible oppertunity for the right candidate to join our team at this pivital point in our development.
The succesful candidate will be responsible for providing first class animal care, operational support necessary to achieve the Corporate and Departmental objectives of Wild Ireland and will assist the Head keeper, Directors and managers in managing the premises and activities required by regulations and legislation, ensuring the development of the service to its full potential. This role involves day to day care of the animals at Wild Ireland whilst complying with the health and safety requirements, maintaining designated areas, and ensuring the welfare and husbandry of wild animals.
Succesful candidate should be able to demonstrate exceptional knowledge of primates and carnivores, demonstrate a good working knowledge of training and enrichment and have a relevant qualification in zoo animal husbandry.
