About The Role

We are looking for a proactive Facilities Assistant to support with the maintenance and development of buildings and associated features and equipment across our London site. You will assist with ensuring WWT compliance by carrying out regular checks with play equipment, building conditions and safety systems to ensure our visitors and staff have first class and safe facilities. You will also be involved in painting and decorating of all buildings and structures to ensure high standards are maintained across the site.

Site presentation is key to the success of the centre. Being part of the Facilities Team you will play a key part in ensuring the best visitor experience in this front line role. This is a very varied role with exciting opportunities to get in involved in a wide variety of projects, develop your maintenance skills and be part of a creative and friendly team. 

The role is 22.5 hours per week, working 3 days out of 7 including weekend working on a rota basis.

About You

To join as our Facilities Assistant you'll bring:

  • a C&G NVQ level 2 qualification and/ or relevant experience of a building related trade (painting and decorating, joinery, plumbing, building work etc.)
  • an eye for quality in your work
  • a willingness to learn new skills

  • an organised approach to your work

  • an understanding of working safely and enjoy working as part of a team and also alone in a customer facing environment
