All Things Wild is a unique and exciting family attraction based in Honeybourne, that brings nature, animals and adventure to life. We are committed to providing an educational, entertaining and environmentally-conscious experience for visitors of all ages. Our facilities include wildlife exhibits, indoor and outdoor play, a dinosaur trail and many more immersive activities.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate General Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of All Things Wild. The General Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the park, delivering an exceptional guest experience, and driving the business's growth and success. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and the ability to manage a diverse team in a dynamic, visitor-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Oversee the daily operations, ensuring that all facilities, attractions, and services meet high standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team across multiple departments, including guest services, food and beverage, retail, and maintenance.
Collaborate with the Animal Manager: Work closely with the Animal Manager to enhance the guest experience by coordinating educational programs and interactive activities that promote engagement and learning about the animals. Ensure that all animal-related visitor experiences are well-organised and aligned with the park’s standards for guest satisfaction.
Guest Experience: Drive a customer-first culture, ensuring that all visitors have a memorable and enjoyable experience.
Café & Retail Operations: Oversee the operations of the on-site café and retail outlets, ensuring quality service, food safety standards, and profitability. Work closely with the food and beverage team to maintain high standards and enhance the visitor experience.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining a safe and secure environment for both guests and staff.
Marketing & Community Engagement: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns, partnerships, and community outreach initiatives.
Sustainability & Conservation: Promote and implement sustainable practices, contributing to the park's commitment to conservation and environmental stewardship.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in a senior management role, preferably within the leisure, tourism, or hospitality industry.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
Financial acumen and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for wildlife, conservation, and education.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility and adaptability.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in a public-facing setting.
Computer Proficiency: Experience working with a wide range of software, including CRM systems, financial software, booking and ticketing systems, and operational management tools.
Willingness to work weekends and public holidays as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the park during peak visitor times.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Business Management, Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field.
Experience working in a wildlife park, zoo, or family entertainment attraction.
Familiarity with conservation practices and sustainability initiatives.
