About The Role

WWT Arundel has over 40 species of wildfowl, many of which are endangered, all set within a beautiful 65 acre site. We have an exciting opportunity for an reliable, proactive and passionate person to join the team.

You main role will be keeping animal welfare standards to a high level, alongside zoo licencing regulations. Assisting with all aspects of the day to day care of the animals you are looking after. To include; feeding & diet preparation, cleaning, incubation & rearing, vegetation management, exhibit maintenance, pest control and paperwork relevant to the role.

This is a permanent, full time role working 37.5 hours a week, 5 days out of 7 including weekends and bank holidays.

About You

To join as our Trainee Keeper you'll have:

  • Experience of working with birds
  • Experience of working in a visitor services environment and speaking to the public
  • The ability to work independently under general work instructions

This role requires outside practical tasks to be completed on a daily basis so you need to be comfortable working in all weathers and have a reasonable level of physical fitness. A full driver's licence is also required to drive on site vehicles.
