The Oceanarium Conservation Education department is a vibrant, dynamic, and energetic space dedicated to providing positive visitor experiences paired with lasting educational interactions and memorable conservation messages. Our dedicated team work creatively and collaboratively to host multi-dimensional programs for visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
We are seeking a proactive individual with proven people skills to join the team.
Responsibilities:
• Coordination of daily Conservation Education activities and procedures to engage and captivate visitors.
• Assist in the delivery of educational programs, conservation activities and experience sessions.
• Implement and develop conservation projects in and around the Oceanarium to protect and monitor native species and habitats.
• Support the Conservation Education team in creating memorable learning experiences for all visitors.
• Assist in the production of engaging content for our social media channels, showcasing the animal collection and Conservation Education activities.
• Involved in the development, production and maintenance of some displays, providing the highest standards of animal welfare and husbandry at all times. This includes ensuring all zoo licence regulations and BIAZA guidelines are adhered to and that related administration duties are fulfilled.
Candidate requirements:
• Positive, vibrant outlook with excellent organisational skills and time management.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Degree or equivalent in Marine Biology related subject (preferred)
