We are looking for friendly, hard-working and pro-active applicants to join our retail team at the family run Battersea Park Children’s Zoo.
As a Seasonal Retail and visitor experience assistant at the zoo, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality customer service and creating memorable experiences for our guests. Whether you're assisting in our café, gift shop, maintaining our facilities to a high standard, or helping guests navigate the zoo, your focus will be on ensuring visitors have an enjoyable and enriching experience.
This role offers the unique opportunity, if you wish to do so, to work alongside our Events and Birthday Parties team, where you'll assist in hosting engaging, fun, and educational events.
You'll also have the chance to interact with visitors, sharing fascinating facts about our animals and the vital conservation work we do throughout the year. If you're passionate about wildlife, education, and providing exceptional guest service, this role is for you!
Job Responsibilities
You will be joining our small retail team and will be expected to be involved in a variety of duties such as:
The sale of tickets, toys and souvenirs in our admissions and gift shop.
The preparation and serving of hot drinks, sandwiches and snacks in the zoo’s Café.
Displaying and rotating stock in both the shop and café.
Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that visitors of all ages have a positive experience throughout their visit.
Deliver information and answering all queries to visitors.
Always maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the zoo’s facilities, including the toilets, litter bins and sandpits.
Assist in hosting parties and events.
Assist in education zoo tours and talks.
About You
Must be able to work weekends and weekdays, including school holidays and bank holidays.
You must be welcoming, helpful and approachable as this job is primarily customer-facing and based around excellent customer service.
You should have experience processing cash and card payments – training on our tills will be provided upon your induction session.
You should be able to work under pressure during our busy periods and be willing to be active throughout the day – this role requires you to spend long periods of time on your feet and to carry stock to different locations on site.
Adhere to the Daily Health and Hygiene workbook. Fill out required information and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
