Due to a change of sections within the team, Wolds Wildlife Park have an exciting opportunity for an experienced hoofstock keeper to join our small team! You will work 40 hours per week over 5 days including weekends and bank holidays.
Job Summary –
This is a hands-on, physical role suited to someone with a passion for hoofstock species. You’ll be responsible for the daily husbandry of a variety of exotic and domestic species. You will also play an important role in enclosure maintenance, record-keeping, enrichment and public education.
Responsibilities –
· Provide excellent husbandry standards and welfare to the hoofstock section within the park.
· Ensure all animals receive appropriate daily care, nutrition and enrichment.
· Monitoring health and behaviours, administering medications under veterinary guidance.
· Collect and record detailed and accurate animal records.
· Engage with visitors on site, which will include delivering or assisting with animal talks and public experiences.
Key Attributes –
Technical & Professional Requirements
· 2 years experience working with hoofstock species in a zoo or similar environment (Exotic species – Essential).
· Relevant animal management qualifications or DMZAA
· Knowledge of ZIMS
· High standards of practical skills in animal husbandry, including training and enrichment.
· Ability to maintain detailed records of animal care and welfare.

· Reliable and able to work well in a small team
· Flexible and adaptable
· Excellent punctuality and time keeping
· Hard working and highly motivated.
· Full driving license
