Animal keeper

Requirements:

• Essential:
• Minimum 2 years paid experience in a licensed zoological collection.

• Diploma or Degree in Animal Management, Zoology, or related field.

• Full driving licence 

• Resiliant and resourceful.

Desirable:

• Experience with large hoofstock, primates and carnivores.
• First aid 
• Tractor licensed.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare species-appropriate diets

• Clean and maintain animal enclosures to high, hygiene standards

• Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting concerns promptly to the Head Keeper.

• Administer medication under veterinary guidance.

• Deliver educational talks on a public address system and interact with visitors.

• Follow strict health and safety procedures.

• Provide environmental enrichment to encourage natural behaviors.

• Maintain accurate records of feeding, health, and breeding

• Ensure compliance with animal welfare legislation
