Blackpool Zoo is seeking a passionate and organised Education and Animal Interactions Coordinator to support and deliver exceptional guest experiences, conservation messaging and curriculum-linked learning. This is a dynamic role combining hands‑on visitor engagement, programme development and operational coordination.
The Role
As our Education and Animal Interactions Coordinator, you will play a key part in delivering safe, high‑quality animal encounters and engaging educational activities for visitors of all ages. You will work closely with our animal, education and commercial teams to ensure all interactions are professionally delivered, welfare‑focused and memorable.
Key elements of the role include:
- Hosting and coordinating Blackpool Zoo’s animal interaction programme
- Working with animal teams to ensure safe, welfare‑led experiences
- Delivering talks, presentations and curriculum-linked sessions
- Ensuring sessions are inclusive, accessible and engaging
- Supporting the development of new education programmes and commercial experiences
- Responding to enquiries and maintaining accurate records and booking systems
- Gathering and analysing feedback to help improve and grow the programme
- Supporting events, conservation campaigns and fundraising activities
- Upholding the highest standards of health, safety and professional conduct
About You
We’re looking for someone who is confident, proactive and motivated by conservation, education and visitor experience.
You will have:
- At least 12 months experience working as an Animal Keeper
- A strong passion for animal welfare, conservation and public engagement
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- The ability to deliver inclusive sessions to varied audiences
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- A collaborative mindset and positive approach to problem‑solving
