Zookeeper Flamingo Land

Flamingo Land is a popular theme park and zoo in North Yorkshire, and the zoo is a member of BIAZA, EAZA and WAZA. We are looking for a full time zookeeper to join our team.
This general keeper role will require working across all areas of the zoo. For this role, paid experience is preferred but not essential. The successful candidate will receive any training needed to carry out the role.
All of our zookeepers are encouraged to participate in a range of activities which include research and environmental enrichment which helps staff improve and update their skills. Applicants should possess a relevant qualification in a biological or conservation subject and at minimum proven work experience in the animal care industry. A drivers licence is preferred.
The successful candidate will be expected to be very personable and enthusiastic as there is a requirement to communicate well with our guests, including delivering public talks and general good customer service.
Our team is expected to work five days out of seven and this will include weekends and bank holidays in order to provide care for our animals on a rota basis.
Working hours vary during the year between summer and winter. The salary for this position is £28116.50, with an annual holiday entitlement of 30 days.
