Keeper Volunteer Primates

Bedfordshire Closing date for applications is: 28th Apr 2026We are looking for keeper volunteers to help our Primate section to care for the animals on their section, which include Sulawesi macaque, Francois langur, Lowland Anoa, Babirusa, Red panda and two species of lemur. You'll be helping with cleaning out their enclosures, doing food prep and enrichment, general tidying and weeding. There may be opportunities for you to observe various training programmes on the section. You will be on your feet all day, cover a lot of distance around the zoo, and potentially be lifting and carrying heavy objects so physical fitness is a must!
- We are looking for a regular commitment of one day per week. We can be flexible around which day this is on discussion with your volunteer supervisor.
- The hours will be agreed with the team but are likely to be 8am to 5pm or 8am to 4pm in the winter
- Volunteer positions will last a fixed period of 6 months.
